Bad Ideas?

Ok so commitee said that my idea for running something that wasn't TL as part of BathLARP was quite understandably taking the piss as I was trying to minimise the effort I needed to input to run an entirely different systemw ithout making my own LARP.

That being said I can't get the idea of running a high threat, low NPC, survival based LARP out of my head. I'm looking to use "TL light" rules in something similar to the a town from the KoE transported to another plane of existence with no way back. Key themes are: limited resources, low/nil NPC power, slow character progression and encouraged cahracter retirement at higher power levels. What do people think? I might post what I'm got as rough notes tomorrow, we'll see.

Crazy!

So the committee would be cool with helping the experiment run under club insurance, using club kit, first aid setup, etc, as it would be club members lrping and not at a time that competes with the current structure?

I'm not entirely sure how the insurance would work in that case, I must admit.

If Greg made it to experienced GM first though, or was working with reliable experienced Co-GMs, then arrangements could certainly be discussed for a lot of that. But I refuse to give any definite answers while I'm sunbathing.

We didn't think the specific proposal submitted to us would work as part of BathLARP's activities, and we gave feedback as to why. Anyone is welcome to submit further ideas, and we'll take a look at them and see if we think we can make it work :)

Oh yes - the one bit of etc that would be tricky if not impossible is the website. BladesDb isn't set up to do odd point progressions, so it would be a very manual affair.
